Atlas Trails began in 2009 when two passionate hikers, Elena and Marco, found themselves
disillusioned with mainstream tourism. After a transformative trek through the Dolomites
where they connected with local shepherds and stayed in family-run mountain huts, they
realized travel could be different—more authentic, responsible, and profound.
They envisioned a company that would design journeys emphasizing genuine connection to
place and people, while treading lightly on the earth. What started as hand-crafted
itineraries for friends has grown into a collective of experienced guides and travel designers
united by a shared philosophy.
Today, we remain independently owned and committed to our founding principles. We ve
expanded our reach but kept our approach personal, ensuring each Atlas Trails journey
maintains the thoughtfulness and care that defined our very first expeditions.
